Bali is a dream for every kind of traveller — from beach lovers and cafe hoppers to spiritual seekers and partygoers. If it’s your first time visiting, this 7-day itinerary based in Canggu gives you the perfect balance of natural beauty, temple hopping, shopping, and nightlife. You’ll stay in one spot and explore Bali through carefully planned day trips so you don’t have to keep changing hotels. Let’s dive into your week in paradise.
Day 1: Welcome to Bali – Check-in & Canggu Cafes
After landing at Ngurah Rai International Airport, head straight to your villa or hotel in Canggu — a relaxed, hip beach town known for its bohemian cafes and vibrant atmosphere. Once you’ve checked in and freshened up, ease into Bali life by exploring the nearby cafes. Canggu is dotted with Instagrammable brunch spots like Crate Café, The Shady Shack, and Baked., all serving delicious smoothie bowls, coffee, and fusion meals. Spend your evening walking down to Echo Beach for your first Bali sunset, and if you’re up for it, grab a drink at La Brisa, a rustic beach club tucked away among coconut palms.

Day 2: Ubud Day Trip – Swings, Rice Terraces & Sunset Walks
Start your morning with a drive to Ubud, Bali’s cultural heart nestled in the jungle. Head straight to Alas Harum, an all-in-one experience offering lush rice terraces, jungle swings, sky bikes, glass bridges, and the stunning Cretya Day Club perched over the landscape. It’s the perfect spot for both adventure and Instagram-worthy moments.
If you still have energy in the late afternoon, take a peaceful sunset walk along the Campuhan Ridge. It’s an easy trail with views of hills and rice fields, ideal for unwinding after a busy day. Before heading back, browse for souvenirs at the bustling Ubud Art Market, where you’ll find woven bags, silver jewellery, and wooden crafts. End your day with a relaxed dinner at Milk & Madu Ubud, known for its warm ambiance and hearty meals.

Day 3: Volcano Views, Temples & Northern Bali Sights
Rise early and head out towards Mount Batur for a scenic sunrise breakfast. Instead of the full sunrise hike, visit a viewpoint near Kintamani and have your morning coffee at El Lago Café, which boasts sweeping volcano and lake views. It’s calm, picturesque, and perfect for slow travel.
From there, drive to Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, a picturesque Hindu temple floating on the lake surrounded by mountains. You’ll feel like you've stepped into a postcard. Depending on your mood and energy, choose between a short waterfall hike nearby — Banyumala Twin Waterfall is a serene, less-crowded choice — or make your way to the peaceful Tirta Gangga Water Palace, known for its koi-filled ponds and stepping stones. In the evening, head back to Canggu for a good night’s rest.

Day 4: Cliffs, Temples & Beachside Cocktails in Uluwatu
After breakfast, make your way south to Uluwatu for a coastal escape. Begin your day with brunch at Kynd Café Uluwatu — a dreamy, plant-based spot that’s all pastel interiors and colourful plates. Continue your day at Malini Uluwatu, a charming cliffside cafe perfect for a relaxing drink while soaking in panoramic views of the Indian Ocean. If you prefer cultural sites, you can swap Malini for a visit to the Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue, an enormous monument that reflects Bali’s spiritual heritage.
By late afternoon, head to the famous Uluwatu Temple perched on a cliff above crashing waves. It’s especially stunning at sunset, just in time for the iconic Kecak Fire Dance performance that begins at 6 PM. On your way back to Canggu, stop by Rock Bar — one of Bali’s most iconic venues built into the cliffs — for a stylish dinner and sunset drinks.

Day 5: Ubud ATV Thrill & Bali by Night
Start the day early with an adrenaline-pumping ATV ride in Ubud with Alasan Adventure. You'll cruise through muddy trails, lush jungle paths, and rice paddies — it’s the perfect dose of adventure for your Bali trip. After the ride, enjoy a well-earned lunch at Cretya Sunset Restaurant, set against panoramic views of rice terraces and jungle infinity pools.
Return to your villa in Canggu by mid-afternoon to relax and refresh. In the evening, dive into Bali’s legendary nightlife. Begin with sunset cocktails at Potato Head or Ku De Ta, both offering oceanfront vibes and stylish settings. As the night picks up, choose your scene: Motel Mexicola for Latin energy, ShiShi for upscale clubbing, or La Favela for a quirky jungle-themed party with hidden rooms and vintage flair.

Day 6: Spa, Shopping & Sunset at Finns
Treat your last full day in Bali to total relaxation. Start with a nourishing breakfast at Penny Lane, then head to one of Canggu’s best spas — like Goldust, Amo Spa, or Bodyworks — for a traditional Balinese massage, facial, or body treatment that leaves you glowing.
After your spa session, explore boutiques and markets around Canggu, or stop by Love Anchor Market for handmade accessories, homewares, and last-minute gifts.
As the sun begins to set, unwind in style at Finns Beach Club — sip cocktails on a daybed, dip in the pool, and soak up the tropical vibe. If you’re still in party mode, head next door to Atlas Beach Club, Asia’s largest, for a lively and unforgettable finale to your Bali adventure.

Day 7: Departure
Depending on your flight, you can enjoy one last breakfast, get a massage, or shop for some gifts before heading to the airport. Leave early enough to allow for traffic, especially if you're flying out during peak hours.
Bali Basics for First-Timers
📱 SIM Card: Stay connected by picking up a local SIM card — Telkomsel and XL are the most reliable. You can buy one at the airport or any convenience store for around IDR 100,000 (approx. 20–25GB, valid for 30 days). Alternatively, pre-book a SIM via Klook for a smooth arrival.
💰 Currency: Bali uses the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). The exchange rate is roughly 1 USD = 15,500 IDR or 1 AUD = 10,500 IDR. Avoid airport currency counters and stick to authorized money changers in tourist areas like Seminyak or Ubud for better rates.
🛵 Transport: For day trips, hiring a private driver is the most convenient. But during peak hours, scooters are faster and more efficient — book them via Grab or Gojek to avoid getting stuck in traffic for hours. These apps also work great for short rides and food delivery.
🤝 Tipping Tip: While tipping isn't mandatory, it’s always appreciated. Leaving a small tip for drivers, vendors, or waitstaff goes a long way and is a kind gesture for great service
🗣️ Language: The official language of Bali is Bahasa Indonesia, but in tourist areas, most locals speak basic English, especially in cafes, hotels, and shops. You’ll also hear Balinese, the island’s native language, spoken among locals. While you can get by easily with English, learning a few simple phrases like “Terima kasih” (Thank you) or “Selamat pagi” (Good morning) is always appreciated and goes a long way in connecting with locals.
Whether it’s chasing waterfalls in Ubud, dancing under the stars in Canggu, or simply soaking in Bali’s tropical charm — this 7-day itinerary is the perfect mix of adventure, culture, and relaxation. I hope it helps you plan a trip full of unforgettable moments and local experiences. ✨
